The Wake-Up Call

So much of the IT certification study I have been doing has been revision. I can often hear the echoes of my subconscious “heard of that already”, “know that”, “use that”, etc…. and for the most part, I was right… however… having laid down some cash for the Professor Messer “Success Bundle“, I had the opportunity to go through the first of the 3 included practice exams. Such an eye-opener.

For me, the biggest failure was knowing and being able to compare and contrast the hundreds of acronyms, and likewise having the various definitions of network protocols to hand. While I still “passed” the practice test, I was sure that I was going to do MUCH better than I did.

The fantastic outcome is that I now know exactly what to focus on before attempting the next practice exam. If nothing else, the prac exam made the study materials worthwhile.
